Jeffery Michaels, OD

Dr. Jeffrey Michaels is an optometrist specializing in vision rehabilitation for visually impaired patients. He received his training at the Johns Hopkins University Wilmer Eye Institute and has been the Director of Low Vision Services at Newport News Eye & Ear Health Alliance (formerly Newport News Eye & Ear Hospital) since 1999.
Dr. Michaels has lectured internationally for the American Academy of Optometry on low vision rehabilitation, age-related macular degeneration, intraocular tumors, and driving with low vision. He is a Clinical Instructor at Virginia Commonwealth University and a Low Vision Examiner for the Commonwealth of Virginia.
